She is currently working on her web site. INTERVIEW QUESTIONS Dark Hunger is your first published novel. Was it difficult to make the switch from short fiction to novel length? Actually, it was kind of an adventure. And it was what I really wanted to do. After all, I was never a short-story reader myself. I was able to write and published short stories first for the simple reason that short stories were what the professors wanted from me during my first four years at the university. But I always loved and read novels and I knew that's what I would eventually do. Making the switch was kind of a relief. Writing good short stories is more difficult than writing novels. What made you choose to write a vampire romance? I've always been attracted to the supernatural, ever since I was a little girl. I loved reading anything having to do with ghosts or demons or witches... even though they scared me to death! At a young age I also watched all those old films in black and white about werewolves and mummies. Then, of course, came Bega Lugosi and Christopher Lee. I really don't know when or how that pure fear turned into obsessive fascination. But somehow it did. The turning point was when I read THE VAMPIRE LESTAT, by Anne Rice. The book took my breath away. I was writing other things at the time, but after reading this book I knew I had to write a vampire novel. I didn't know when, but I knew I eventually would. Around this time I also watched the movie Ford Coppola's DRACULA. The set, the music, Dracula's obsessive love for this woman... It spellbound me.
