"The topic today may seem more related to travel professionals than the traveler - but follow on and you will understand that it's first of all the traveler who is at risk". That's the words I used in first part of this article - and if you landed directly in this second part, go first to this part.
The first program is called EasyCrypto Deluxe, and comes from Handybits.com. Note that EasyCrypto is shareware for business use (but with a low price, so don't worry). In theory EasyCrypto should be free for travelers, but as they write "All Handybits products are free for home use!!!" - I'm not quite sure if you are allowed to travel away from home with it - LOL EasyCrypto let you encrypt with either a 40 Bit Key (which is passwords up to 5 characters), a 64 Bit Key (up to 8 characters) or a strong encryption 128 Bit Key (Blowfish algorithm). It's lot of options with this program and it's intuitive and very easy to use. One of it's important features is (in my opinion) that you along with good encryption can create small messages that comes up when the receiver get the file and double click on it. In the screenshot below you see the file itself on the desktop named "New Contract" - and an example of a customized message. Let me say that I'm truly impressed with this program - and it's a program anyone can use, hardly without any learning curve.
The other program I strongly recommend is Crypto Systems FineCrypt. Maybe the main part I miss in this program compared to EasyCrypto is the option of creating a "welcome message". Okay, the message option is not "encryption" and FineCrypt is all about encryption. FineCrypt give the option of encryption with password or with "key". As EasyCrypto, FineCrypt is free for personal use (hey, that's most of us travelers!), but shareware for business use. It comes with tons of options, from encryption algorithms to encryption modes and the unique option of testing for correctness of the encryption technique. Add to this and all the other options of FineCrypt, the built in ability to zip your files and folders so they get a smaller size for email transfers or storage. Go To Page: 1 2
