ATLANTIS - Even the name conjures wild pictures in the imagination - high rocky cliffs, towering waves and, of course, futuristic technology.

Not the picture you have? Never mind. Everyone has his or her ideas about the fabled continent. In this article, I want to draw my pictures for you. Hang on to your hats. My ideas are really wild.

First, why am I writing an article on Atlantis in a Prophecy column? According to the predictions of the Sleeping Prophet Edgar Cayce, Atlantis will rise again sometime in this millennium. Ruined columns and possible underground roads have already been unearthed.

Did Atlantis really exist? I believe it did, not where Plato believed he saw it, off the coast of Greece. I think Plato did indeed "see" Atlantis, much as a psychic sees anything, in the depth of his mind. The most probable location for Atlantis is beneath another spot rich in myth and legend - the Bermuda Triangle. Indeed, in his prophecies, Cayce mentions Bimini in connection with Atlantis. Below is a map of the area known as the Devil's Triangle. Bimini lies just off the coast of Florida, near Miami, and well within the fabled triangle.

THIS IS MY THEORY! Atlantis was a lush, uninhabited island thousands of years ago. Then a spacecraft landed on its rocky shores bringing to earth a people displaced by the destruction of their planet. These people were highly advanced technologically. It was this advancing technology that had destroyed their home planet. It was this technology they brought to Atlantis.

They built towering cities powered by nuclear energy. They made more advancements in many directions. But still they hadn't learned the danger of their power. Or perhaps internal wars caused their downfall. Whatever the cause, Atlantis, like the original planet, was destroyed in a nuclear holocaust.

Some people escaped and fled south. They became the Incas of Peru, the people who built the fabulous cities and pyramids hidden in the Peruvian jungles. Others escaped and fled east, across the Atlantic Ocean. They traveled on through the Mediterranean Sea to what we now know as Egypt. There they established another civilization, the civilization that built the mighty pyramids.

Others, seeking respite from the hot sun and deserts of Africa, continued up the Red Sea and the Arabian Sea into India. They settled in the mountainous regions near the Himalayas in the north of the continent. Hundreds of years later, they made the trek west again, and since have
