happy as hell.
Not as many as I'd like! But it's been satisfying to see stories appearing in Cyber Pulp anthologies and in up-and-coming hard SF magazine Oceans of the Mind. And of course I had kittens when I saw THE VAMPYRE'S KISS appear on Jintsu, that was a story I'd been fighting with for a couple of years but hadn't been too sure of, but then Roach (Raechel Henderson Moon, publisher of the Jintsu line of eBook titles) slapped it into shape, corrected my weak ending and made it happen. That pleased me no end. Check out http://www.fictionwise.com/eBooks/Cyberp... and http://www.eggplant-productions.com/jint... "What is next for Manfred?" At the very least an appearance in a forthcoming anthology from Cyber Pulp editor David Bain, an 11,000-word story called "The Witch." There's also another couple of completed Manfred novelettes I'd like to place here and there, spreading his adventures to a wider audience. The stories are all linked, part of an ongoing history and character arc. Bigger, more complex adventures are also in the making, the outlines have already been written and now have to impatiently wait for me to get up off my backside and write the novels. I'm also working on a couple of outlines for spin-off tales involving the bloodline vampyre Families of High Sazburg, which are more mystery genre than adventure, and which give insight into the supernatural Shadow World that Manfred, because of his human heritage, can't enter. Things are afoot; hopefully you'll read them soon. "What is next for Derek?" Hopefully more stories published, more novels completed, and a couple of screenplays sold or optioned. But I have no complaints -- I'm doing what I like and I like what I'm doing. The only real challenges lie in obtaining a new pair of eyeballs via cloning, and maybe an extra pair of arms too, giving me the ability to type on two keyboards simultaneously so I can produce more. That's what frustrates me the most, going to bed every night with sore eyes and not having enough time to get all the ideas buzzing in my head written down, patted into shape and in the mail. Then again, what writer doesn't feel this way? "Since you are an eBook author, what do you think of the eBook market now? Has it fulfilled its potential? Where do you see it going? Do you think the development of POD, print on demand books has helped or hindered the eBook market?"
