J. C. Wilder has the honor of being one of the best-known vampire eBook authors, if not THE best known. One with the Hunger, published in 1998, won the 1998 eBook of the Year and the Predator and Editors Award in 1999. Retribution was nominated for the Dorothy Parker Award for Excellence in Literature in 1999 and a Pearl award nominee in 2000. Shameless was nominated for the Dorothy Parker Award for Excellence in Literature in 2000. The first four of books in her Shadow Dwellers series made the 2000 Best Selling eBook list. One with the Hunger is number 7 of the top 50.

J.C. Wilder is sparse with personal details. She lives in Columbus, Ohio, where she works as a Business Analyst for the State by day and lives out wonderful fantasies by night. She owns two dogs, a Japanese Akita and a Jack Russell Terrier, or as she says, she is owned by them, which I understand completely. Her personal library is larger than mine. She is interested in the medicinal use of herbs and essential oils and Reiki. Like most writers she would like to be able to afford to write full time.

- One with the Hunger was originally written for a men's magazine so it's very graphic and violent. I've always wanted to rewrite sections of it to elaborate on a few elements and remove some of the graphic violence. I've always loved that story and I just wanted it to be a bit more romantic I guess.

How did you come up with the idea to write a romance about vampires?

- I've always had a thing for vampires and creatures who go bump in the night. There is a part of me that just loves to be afraid - that's why I used to read Stephen King long after my parents went to bed. As for the
