2011 BCS Bowl Notes

All five BCS bowl games look to be exciting games, and with the possible exception of Oklahoma over Connecticut in the Fiesta Bowl, few are predicting many blowouts.

The first BCS game this year is the traditional New Year's Day Rose Bowl, pitting undefeated TCU against a powerful Badgers squad that seems to be peaking at the right time.

The odds makers have made Oklahoma a two touchdown favorite over Connecticut in the Fiesta Bowl, which seems a little high, particularly as the Sooners can't be taking this game as seriously as they should be.

The Orange Bowl kicks off at 8 PM January 3, and should be a great game pitting West Coast powerhouse Stanford against East Coast standout West Virginia. Most pundits are giving the Cardinal the edge, but don't count the Hokies out.

The Sugar Bowl is scheduled for 8 PM on January 4, and features Ohio State versus Arkansas. This Big 10 vs SEC battle should be a doozy, and a great undercard for the BCS title game.

This year's BCS Championship Game is a dream match up. No. 1 Auburn vs No. 2 Oregon, the two best teams in the country, duking it out for the top dog. And likely to be a high-scoring affair as well. College football fans could not ask for more.
