Justin Bieber will be promoting his new fragrance line called 'Someday' on the television program 'The View' on Thursday, June 23, 2011. The show, hosted by Joy Behar, Whoopi Goldberg, Sherri Shepherd, Elisabeth Hasselbeck and the 81-year-old Barbara Walters, is a daytime talk show that Bieber has appeared on twice before.
The ABC program said he'll take part in a Hot Topics segment in the first part of the show and then in a SEGWAY race with Hasselbeck all around The View studio (segways are two-wheeled electric bike-like vehicles). His 'Someday' fragrance is out this month and a portion of all proceeds will be given over to charity.
Justin Bieber Gives to Charity with 'Someday'
Besides having already guested on 'The View' twice, the last time in March, Bieber also appeared on a Walters special last December called The Ten Most Fascinating People of 2010. Kate Middleton, LeBron James, Betty White and the cast of 'Jersey Shore' were others on that show. Walters later said of Bieber that "he's a very smooth kid - and he's only just beginning to shave."
This will not be the first fragrance Bieber has released, he released the unisex fragrance 'My World' last fall. But 'Someday' is for girls alone and he says he's excited to have a portion of it go to charity. Bieber, a supporter of the 'Make a Wish Foundation' and 'Pencils for Promise', among other charities, credits a company he's working with as a big reason why it's all working out.
"Not only am I able to create a fragrance for all my fans, but I am able to give back to charity, which is a huge priority for me," Bieber said back in May. "The people at 'Give Back Brands' really get me, and what I represent and care about.”
Justin Bieber, The View and TV
'The View' has a huge market and while many young tween and teen girls will tune in, the audience are largely middle-aged and older woman, many of whom may purchase his product. Bieber continues to be expertly marketed by manager Scooter Braun.
If the 17-year-old singer is not on tour, recording or at an awards show he's more often doing the round of television talk shows and has now appeared on 'The Jon Stewart Show', 'Chelsea Lately!', 'The David Letterman Show', 'Late Night with Jay Leno' and the 'George Lopez Show'.
