The Beverly Hills-based company Julien’s Auctions, which is selling off Michael Jackson’s personal property from April 22 to 25th, displays an array of treasures from Michael Jackson's Neverland Ranch on its website.
Neverland Ranch No More
As the modern world knows, Neverland Ranch is named after Peter Pan's magical island, where the young never grow old. Michael Jackson created it in 1988 after purchasing 2,700-acres in Santa Barbara County.
White Glove, Gaudy Gates
Items range from the singer's iconic white-jeweled glove (Billy Jean, anyone?) to the gaudy entry gates of Neverland Ranch. In all there are more than 2,000 items up for grabs.
Tori Spelling’s Been There, Done That
Such “yard sales” seem to only be possible in Los Angeles. Beverly Hills, 90201 alum, Tori Spelling, was desperate for cash and held a yard sale after a falling out with her father, legendary producer Aaron Spelling. The spoils of her sale included Chanel ensembles and haute couture handbags.

But the loot bag is larger now. Serious shoppers and rabid Jackons fans have been able to place proxy bids since February 15 as well as register for the auction.

For those around the world who can’t make it to the world’s most famous zip code, the Auction Network (yes, this is the first Suite101 has heard of the Auction Network too) will broadcast the auction live on national television and stream video of the auction online providing fans all over the world, it says with ”a front row seat to watch and bid in real time on the items up for sale.”
In addition to life-size statues of Batman, Spider-Man and Superman, the list of items includes a life-size molded rubber Batman costume fitted over a replica of Michael Jackson.
There’s also a slew of vintage arcade machines owned by the reclusive pop icon, including an original six-player “X-Men” arcade cabinet and a “Marvel Vs. Capcom” cabinet.
Amusements, Arcade Games, Disneyana and a Molestation Trial
The items are grouped in the categories of Amusements, Arcade Games and Disneyana. The treasures include paintings, the aforementioned sculptures, career memorabilia, furniture, antiques and garden statuary.
All the items are listed in a fancy catalogue printed with the image of Jackson dressed as an Elizabethan king holding a crown on a pillow.
Certainly Jackson would prefer to be remembered as a wannabe king and not for his 2005 child molestation trial or for his face, which has been mutilated beyond recognition after multiple cosmetic, plastic surgeries.
