Thursday, August 19, 2010 was Big Brother 12 episode 19, and the revelation of the Diamond Power of Veto appeared on the horizon. This Thursday’s episode was to give the latest eviction results in the house before leading into the latest HOH competition. Would Matt use the Diamond Power of Veto and shake up everything? Or would he risk being sent home by staying on the block?
Big Brother 12 Episode 19 Recap
Before they even got to anything on episode 19 of Big Brother 12, they had to do a lot of recapping to catch up audiences that are only watching the show through CBS. That included everything that led up to the Power of Veto ceremony, where Ragan took himself down after winning the Power of Veto, and Brendon replaced him with Matt on the block. That left Matt and Lane up for eviction heading into Thursday night.
Ragan appeared to feel bad for being the reason that Matt was now up for eviction, and more crying was taking place in the house. The rest of the footage covered what would take place if Matt and Lane were both up, and how the house was trying to figure out who to vote out. CBS tried to make it look like Matt was seriously considering breaking up the Brigade alliance by putting up Enzo with his Diamond Power of Veto, but it certainly didn’t seem like a viable option at all.
Big Brother 12 Saboteur Final Event
Ragan struck again as the Big Brother 12 saboteur, this time putting a note under Enzo’s pillow that stated, “I know your secret.” It became a topic of conversation for a few minutes in the house, but these houseguests have grown tired of the saboteur’s antics, and hardly care anymore. During the CBS presentation, Julie Chen announced that the saboteur was done in the house. This is probably welcome news to viewers that have become quite bored with it.
Big Brother 12 Episode 19 Eviction Ceremony
To start off the August 19 eviction ceremony, Matt gave his speech about “saving himself,” but it ended with the comment, “Brendon, congratulations… on coming so close to getting me out.” He then used the Diamond Power of Veto to save himself in front of some very shocked houseguests. After host Julie Chen explained what was going on, Matt put up Kathy in his place.
Lane and Kathy then gave their speeches about wanting to stay in the house, but Kathy almost seemed resigned to being evicted. They went to the voting after that, with Hayden leading if off with a vote for Kathy. Enzo and Ragan then voted for Kathy too, with Ragan almost celebrating what was happening. Britney and Matt also voted for Kathy, making it a unanimous vote to evict Kathy.
Big Brother 12 August 19 HOH Competition
The August 19 HOH competition was a quiz where they were each placed in boxes. It was true/false, based on what had taken place in the house. Ragan and Hayden were out right away, followed by Matt. That left Lane, Britney, and Enzo competing, meaning a new first-time HOH was coming. Lane was the next to go, and it was Britney who won the HOH.
