Ideas for party fun, teenage b-days themes, places to go, themed birthday activities for guy or girl parties, slumber party ideas, bowling party, ideas for birthdays.

Fun teen birthday party ideas and themes for teenagers are sometimes a challenge. Here are cool theme teenage parties for teen birthday events and things to do to celebrate a 13th, 14th, 15th, 16th, 17th, 18th or 19th birthday. These ideas will also work for pre-teens or "tweens."

For more party activites see the pages Birthday Party Themes and Ideas and Teen Birthday Party Ideas and Themes.

Blacklight or Laser Light Bowling Birthday Party for Teenage Guys and Girls:

Many bowling alleys offer special blacklight bowling (sometimes called “Glow Bowl“ or “Pajama Bowl”) during the day or in the evening. Usually the normal lights are darkened and blacklights light up the pins, white clothing, and special paint on the walls. Reservations and arrangements need to be made in advance. Often, as well, bowling alleys will have a party room or snack bar where refreshments may be served. Ask if there are party goods and decorations available with a birthday bowling party package

Have a Teen Girls and Boys Laser Tag Birthday Party:

What is laser tag? According to Laser Quest , with over 140 locations, "Laser Quest combines the classic games of tag and hide & seek with a high-tech twist. Donning the most sophisticated laser tag equipment available, the game is played in a large, multi-level arena featuring specialty lighting, swirling fog and heart-pounding music."

Laser tag facilities are a bit challenging to find in some areas, but some local YMCA or community center locals have equipment and space. A few good games of this real-life, safe, action game is a blast (pardon the pun) for a bunch of friends at a birthday party. This fun activity involves two teams running around a padded maze (again, in the glow of blacklight) trying to “shoot” each other’s target while protecting their own.

Parents can play too, or can usually watch the game on TV screens outside the game room. Laser tag gaming areas are often placed with other fun amusements, such as video game arcades, and often have party rooms and packages available.

As an alternative, a paintball fight can be a lot of fun as well.

Girls' Teen Birthday MakeOver Celebration (and maybe Meet the Guys!):

The idea of this Glamour Birthday Party theme is for everyone to get amazing makeovers, with new hairstyles, make-up, fingernails, and maybe even clothing. Trade outfits, try out new stuff - whatever is cool to you!

To get guys in on the fun, have them dress up (elsewhere) and meet the girls for a nice dinner or a Mystery Party after the girls are ready.

These ideas for party activities can be adjusted to most any budget.

  • For an extravagant event, the parent host and/or hostess can take the girls to a fancy spa for a full treatment (maybe even including massages or other luxuries). How about adding a limo?
  • For a middle-priced party, the young ladies can go to a spa and have fewer things done or be taken to a less expensive hairstyling spot or to a beauty school.
  • The least expensive way to go will be to have a home makeover party. It can be fun for the girls to style each others hair, nails and make-up. Get gorgeous or get crazy with wild colors.
  • Ask everyone to bring several of their most elegant dresses, shoes and jewelry to share, and the girls will have a blast mixing and matching.

If this party is too girly, think how you can adapt the ideas to your own style. Goth Glamour? Vampire Mansion? Crazy clothes? A funky party place?

Happy Party Planning!

Hey parents!!!
I am a teen and i figured I would throw out a few cool party ideas that i have been to or had myself.
1.Build A Bear-no matter what age you are, it is always fun. When i turned 14 my friends and I had the best time
2.Anything to do with limos or party buses, those are always a hit and you can stock it with food and drinks and you just drive around(party buses with tv's are good too, that way you can watch movies)
3.Having a huge scavenger hunt, whether its driving around cars and finding stuff on the street or going into stores or just around the neighborhood, it is always a hit.
4.A big game of fugitive. For that game you will need people that can drive, since it isnt a well known game, I will explain. So every starts out at the birthday kid's house, and everyone needs to end up somewhere else(we will say the high school). So there are "cop car drivers" and their partners in the cars. Then there are plenty of fugitives trying to escape. The fugitives get a 5-10 min head start and run on foot to the high school.Once the ten minutes is up, the "cops" drive around to find the "fugitives" one one of the fugitives are spotted the driver stops the car and their partner gets out and tags the fugitive. If you get tagged, now you go in the car with the "cops" and have been captured. The goal of the game is it get to the high school without getting tagged. This game really only works at night. And pretty much you can hide in peoples yards behind/under cars, anywhere, just not inside someone's back yard.
Those are a few fun ideas, hope it helps!!

mall scavenger hunt. split up into groups and either give them money and have them buy stuff (give prizes to the kids who got ALL items in time limit and with least money spent). OR have them take pictures.

What I do is I gather info on a document of all games we can do, all my friends LOVE scary movies and I am addicted to films like saw, which are not scary. if you put a theme i.e roman, you put bunches of grapes, dress up in togas, put the room in white, and disobey the rule and do multiplayer on the wii! (My friends favourite is mariokart.)

Or look for sleepover ideas on other websites!!

i'm turning 15 and my fav game is when you tie donut to string and then to the clothes line and you have to try eat it without your hands and someone moves the clothes line and you get frustrated but everyone laughs. Also hiding marshmallows in flour and you have to try and get it out of with your mouth. people's faces come out covered in flour and it's the perfect photo opportunity! lol.

okay well i had to put this out there.
this was the best birthday party i ever had.
it was a mystery themed party and they are super cheap!!
mine was a beauty pagaent theme and we got it off a website or thirty something dollars..
just google "teen mystery parties" and you should find something!
we decorated the house so that it was the perfect scene for a party, little finger foods and champagne flutes (with non alcoholic beverages)
everyone came dressed up in gowns and i made them sashes.
then we took pictures together and got into character.
everyone got cards with incentives so it never got boring.
someone was "murdered" and we had to find out who it was
girls, this is an extremely good idea if your friends dont know each other all that well because mine didnt and by the end of the party EVERYONE was friends.
i did this for my 14th birthday party and it was a BLAST!!!
make sure your friends know to go all out with their acting so it will be even more fun.. :)

Throw an oscar party! You have all of your friends come over in super fancy dresses. You then have everyone gather outside your house and make an invisible red carpet. You have the moms or dads ask questions like "Who are you wearing?" or "Are you excited for the awards ceremony?" whhile having another mom or dad taping the whole thing. Before the party, go to like the dollar sore and buy as many small statues of girls in dresses or anything of how many girls will be at the party including the birthday girl/boy. You give everyone little awards like "most dramatic" or "Most sporty" or "Most likley to be in a/n ______ movie" the possibilities are endless! But the most important part is to have fun! Give it your own twists and enjoy the party. This party is most likley going to be in-expencive depending on how deep into your wallets you dig. But an average cost would be around $50 with food, goody bags, drinks, and the statues. Have fun planning!

i dont have many party ideas, but no matter what kind of party you have youll want to remember it! for any parties its really fun to have a few disposable cameras!that way you and your geusts can capture the moments as they happen, and when you develop the pictures after the party you are sure to get a good laugh. something for geusts to sign/write on within your style/budget means. ie, i love my converse, so i got a pair of white converse and had my geusts all sign my shoes for my sweet 16, they look stellar! and i always get compliments.a white belt or shirt works too. another idea is a blank notebook for geusts to write in.

Heyy, I think there are some ace ideas on there :) Also another idea is a chocolate spa party - you get chocolate treats like browinies and other cakes, get chocolate facemasks, paint nails and have chocolate pizza (get a cheesecake base, put chocolate thats melted on it and then add treats) and then just play music and make a party of it :) hope this helps

Hi and Happy birthday!
With a blue and brown theme (very cool colors), I immediately thought of CHOCOLATE. One of my readers had some fun chocolate ideas - check the other messages. Other things I can think of to add...
If your friends like to cook, how about making your cake (or cupcakes) during the party? Have all the supplies out and let your friends go nutty decorating! (warning - this is sure to be messy and fun). Or how about chocolate fondue?
There are lots of fun party games. Catch Phrase by Hasbro is great for a group and very funny. Or Apples to Apples by Mattel/Out of the Box Pub.
How a photo scavenger hunt. Have teams of 2 search an area (the mall, the back yard...) for items to catch on film. Some ideas for the mall - a Superman logo, a horse (any kind), something that says Happy Birthday, etc.
Everyone else, please chime in. I would also love to have people coming over to my blog at http://www.suite101.com/blog/b4igo to go into ideas in more depth!
Best-
