Olivia Williams and Darren Boyd star in Case Sensitive, a two-part ITV crime drama due to be broadcast on Monday and Tuesday, 2 and 3 May 2011.

Olivia Williams and Darren Boyd form the latest TV crime fighting duo as they team up in Case Sensitive, a two-part drama showing on ITV1 on Monday and Tuesday, 2 and 3 May 2011. Olivia Williams stars as DS Charlie Zailer and Darren Boyd as DS Simon Waterhouse investigating the death of a mother and her five-year-old daughter.

Among the suspects is husband Mark Bretherick (played by Rupert Graves), and his quest to prove his innocence becomes complicated when he is contacted by Sally Thorne (played by Amy Beth Hayes), with whom he’d had a brief affair.

Actors in Case Sensitive

Olivia Williams is best known for playing Anna Crowe in the 1999 film The Sixth Sense. Other film roles include as Rosemary Cross in Rushmore and as Ruth Lang in The Ghost. She was also Adelle DeWitt in Dollhouse.

Darren Boyd is best known for his comedy roles and first appeared on television in 1999’s Comedy Lab. The same year he played Hugo Yemp in Hippies and then went onto to be Craig Chapman in Kiss Me Kate. Other roles have included Ben in Watching Ellie, Nik Burnham in Broken News, Jake in Green Wing, Simon Jessop in ReGenesis, Walton in The Jane Show, Jonathon in Saxondale and Tite Barnacle Junior in Little Dorrit. More recently, he played Simon Turner in Personal Affairs, Bib in Whites and Richard MacDuff in Dirk Gently.

A former circus clown, Rupert Graves’ first TV role was as a prefect in an episode of Return of the Saint in 1978. His first recurring role was as Tipping in 1981’s Vice Versa. Other roles have included Simon Boulderstone in Fortunes of War, Jolyon Forsyte in The Forsyte Saga: To Let, George Villiers in Charles II: The Power & the Passion and Daniel Cosgrave in Midnight Man. More recently he played DI Lestrade in Sherlock, Stuart in Single Father and Sir Arthur in Garrow’s Law.

Amy Beth Hayes first hit TV screens in 2008 when she played Albino Servant in an episode of Doctor Who. She has also appeared as Young Ruth in Misfits and as Amber in Secret Diary of a Call Girl.

Case Sensitive also features Ralph Ineson, Tom Goodman-Hill, Geoffrey Streatfeild, Peter Wright, Caludia Harrison, Emily Robbins, Melissa Taylor, Elly Fairman, Eloise Cartwright, Seetya Indrani, How Rhys, Holly Atkins, Diana Payan, Samia Rida and Nina Hossain.

Team Behind Case Sensitive

Case Sensitive was adapted for ITV by Hat Trick Productions. Filmed on location in Buckinghamshire, it was directed by Charles Martin. The executive producer for Hat Trick Productions was Mark Redhead and the producer was Christopher Hall.

The drama was commissioned by Sally Haynes, controller of drama commissioning, and Laura Mackie, ITV’s director of drama commissioning. Kate Brooks wrote the first episode and Shelagh Stephenson the second, and the story is based Sophie Hannah’s novel Point of Rescue.

i have a feeling i have seen this before ,but all links lead to it being a new drama ,am i wrong ?

Does anyone else think Rupert Graves is completely typecast as the "bad guy" or "rotter"? I mean as soon as I see him on the screen, I know he's up to no good, now the degree of badness is usually questionable, but he will be found out! Just gets a bit boring.
