Female Fight Fans Respond to Girl Fight Reality MMA TV Show
The news of the open casting was met positively by fight fans with Lisa Whiteside of the MMA Pundit blog commenting, "This is a great opportunity for women to be given the chance to show their ability in Mixed Martial Arts because at the moment it is only known really as a male dominated sport".
"I know we have some fantastic women fighters like Cristiane "Cyborg" Santos, Rosi Sexton and Gina Carano to mention a few, but this is the time to find the next generation of elite women fighters from all over the world."
Whiteside also said she was pleased that the sport of women's MMA was being given a chance at more credibility and a mainstream television audience, saying "We’ve seen this portrayed in prime time shows like The Ultimate Fighter, now it’s time for the women to take the lead and show what they can do."
