The New Twists and Locations for Amazing Race 19
As first described in Entertainment Weekly, Amazing Race 19 will feature two notable new twists from past seasons. For the first time in Amazing Race history, there will be a double-elimination sending two teams packing at the same pit stop. This season will also include a wrinkle called ‘the Hazard’ where one team incurs a penalty right at the starting line (Dalton Ross, August 31, 2011). This is similar to Kris and Amanda incurring a U-Turn for finishing last place in the starting line competition, but not quite as severe as Season 15’s starting-line elimination, which sent married yoga instructors Eric and Lisa home before they even left the United States.
Unlike Season 18 which added only one new country to its route, Season 19 will feature four brand new nations: Belgium, Denmark, Malawi, and Indonesia.
When to Watch
The Amazing Race 19 will debut Sunday, September 25 at 8:00 pm EST on CBS. For more information about the new season, visit the show’s official Web site.
