Actor turned playwright T.Cat Ford has a timely new play, "www.chaostrade-theplay.com: an American Comedy of Investment Errors" opening in NYC in 2011.

Born in Georgia, T.Cat Ford received her education at Mercer University, a southern baptist institution in Georgia, after which she did her graduate work at the University of Alabama. She later went to London, England, for a one-year professional acting program. While acting was her first love, she gradually found herself gravitating toward writing her own plays.

T.Cat Ford's Acting Career

As an actor, she began with a one-line part in a play in New Jersey in 1982. This was followed by work in regional theaters in the USA and off-Broadway in New York City. As an actor she was most interested in the story line and was discriminating in her choice of vehicles. While working with the playwright Romulus Linney, she watched him closely, and learned a great deal about her craft in this way.

The Chaos Trade by T.Cat Ford

Cat's latest play came about as she was working in 2007 for a New York investment bank and noted things that didn't seem quite right to her. The play takes the audience directly into a trading floor... immediately immersing them in the experience. Her background for the information contained in the play was gleaned from many others who worked for several large investment banks and firms, as well as her own involvement in the business.

T. Cat Ford's Plays

Among T.Cat Ford's output may be mentioned a play about the Shakers...A Simple Gift.. The play has yet to be produced, but Power in the Blood, a story brought about from her own relationship with her mother, opened at the Barter Theater, the state theater of Virginia, in Abington, Virginia, in 2008. Ford's next play will be the story of Victoria Woodhull, the sensational 19th century advocate of free love and the vote for women. She will incorporate the important ties between Woodhull and the celebrated clergyman, the Brooklyn divine Rev. Henry Ward Beecher.

Cat Ford's Personal Life

A very attractive woman with a vibrant personality, Cat Ford makes her home in New York City. She has written six plays and has adapted one...Searchers,net. Cat travels a great deal and of course takes in as many plays as she can when she in the Big Apple. One of her as yet unfulfilled dreams is that of learning to play the boharon...an Irish drum. But knowing the indomitable Ms. Ford, it is just a matter of time before that comes about.
