Actor Daniel Craig loved playing a cowboy and hates not smoking. The first James Bond born after that series began is also set to start a new Bond film.

In an interview on Australian radio August 13, 2011, Cowboys and Alien actor Daniel Craig talked about loving westerns and loving that he finally got to play a cowboy and work with Harrison Ford and director Jon Favreau . The U.K. actor also talked of loving cigarettes and hating not being able to smoke anymore.

Craig was a guest of Kyle Sandilands and Jackie O, hosts of the Kyle and Jackie O show, broadcast out of Sydney, Australia and the most popular morning radio show in that country. He joined them via the telephone from London and in the midst of talking about movies they also talked about cigarettes and quitting.

"(I've quit) because it's stupid, no offense. I love it but it's dumb and it will kill you. It's still a struggle, it's a constant struggle," he told his hosts, one of which, Kyle, is a smoker who does not intend to quit. "They always say that you're an addict and you can never actually stop being a smoker. It's a horrible thing, it's a real addiction, very difficult."

Daniel Craig: Loved Being a Cowboy

The 43-year-old Craig, who married actor Rachel Weisz in June, said he does not plan his films - "I don't have any grand game plan" - but takes it script by script. When the script for Cowboys and Aliens came along, in addition to liking the script itself he was smitten with the idea of working with Ford, Favreau and Steven Spielberg, an executive producer on the project (Ron Howard was also on the production team).

Daniel Craig to Return as James Bond

Craig has played James Bond in Casino Royale (2006) and Quantum of Solace and is the first to play Bond who was born after the franchise started. He told his radio hosts the next Bond film, Bond 23, in pre-production now, begins shooting in November. Judi Dench, Ralph Fiennes and Javier Bardem will be in the picture but it is not known who the female lead is. Craig knows but would not say.

He said the script for Bond 23 is a "great script, really a great script."

When asked if he was a chuffed about playing Bond and having so much success in such an iconic movie franchise, he said he just takes things as they come and then moves on. "I'm not going to dwell on it," Craig said. "we made a good movie, it speaks for itself; I don't need to be resentful, I just get on with my life and be happy."
