Harold Camping, president of Family Radio, says doomsday will be May 21, 2011, when roughly 98 percent of the population will go to hell.

89-year-old Reverend Harold Camping, the president of Family Radio whose hit shows broadcast internationally from Oakland, California, said that Jesus Christ will be back on earth at 6 p.m. on May 21, 2011, when roughly 2 percent of earth’s population will be sent straight to heaven--and everybody else will go to hell.

“I’m not the authority,” Camping said in an interview in April 2011. “The Bible is the authority.”

Camping said The Bible says that the Day of Rapture and the Day of Judgment will begin at the international dateline, where the day starts and where Samoa potentially made a grave mistake in crossing over last week when shifting itself 24 hours into the future. Now, Samoa is positioned to be one of the first nations to face the catastrophes that Camping predicts will occur this evening.

“May 21,” he said. “That’s an absolutely locked-in date.”

The way Camping described it, doomsday evening will fold out similarly to the way the night did in San Francisco on November 1, 2010, when the Giants won the World Series: fires, riots, zombie-like creatures raising hell, orange and black, floods and seismic activity.

Whoops!

This is Camping’s second attempt to predict the date of the Day of Rapture and the Day of Judgment. His book, 1994?, which was published in 1992, says that doomsday should have occured on September 4, 1994. Obviously, Camping’s dead wrong in that one--but many of his other books are credible, and can be found and downloaded for free at FamilyRadio.com.

“No, not a mathematical error,” Camping said, regarding his first try. “When Thomas Edison invented the light bulb it wasn’t a perfect problem.”

Where will you go?

The news of the forthcoming finale has lead some believers--many of whom are loyal listeners of “Open Forum,” one of Camping’s shows which broadcasts on Family Radio five nights a week--to sell their things and give away their children, to use the time to spread the word that Jesus will be back on earth today, around suppertime.

“Project Caravan” is their vessel, a crusade on wheels which has propelled members of Camping’s cult all over the mainland of the United States over the last four months. On May 19, 2011, Project Caravan’s four buses were scheduled to set up shop in four different states: Massachusetts, New Mexico, Pennsylvania and Wisconsin.

Space shuttle Endeavour will still be in outer space on the Day of Judgment. Lucky. The crew won’t be back until June 1, 2011. There will still be time, though, because the earth and the universe won't be completely destroyed until October 21, 2011.

Until Sunday, Lord's Day, keep your fingers crossed--and pray for the best.

Their message has scared many, including me. This prompted me to first evaluate my relationship with Christ, then look to the bible for the real answer. I glanced at their proclaimed verses and their arguments regarding Matthew 26 and Mark 13 that no man will know the day or the hour. The bible provided clear messages, not hidden, regarding what to expect when Jesus does arrive.

Revelation chapters 20 and 21 clearly say that the 1000 years of peace occur after the Tribulation, and then after the 1000 years of peace the dead and everybody else will face judgement. The dead will not rise from their graves until after the 1000 years (Revelation 20- 4-5). Only those who did not accept the mark of the beast will be resurrected during the 1000 years, and then the REST of the dead will be judged after. Only then! The bible says it! Then after Judgement, God will destroy the old heaven and old earth and recreate new ones (please see 2 Peter 3: 7- one of their arguing factors for May 21). They are also using the fifth trumpet (the first terror) in Revelation 9 to describe the time period between May 21 and Oct 21. Would you please tell me where the first four trumpets, the seven seals, and the scroll would happen prior? The signs of these would be blatently obvious! Revelation 9: 1- 11 describe the first terror, and the fourth trumpet! Recognize Revelation 9: 12 'The first terror is past, but look, two more terrors are coming!' There is still more to the story... if the Tribulation even started May 21, there would still be more time leading to the 1000 years of peace. His timeline is not correct! The bible is clear and accurate.

Yes, we are in a time of earthquakes, wars, and famine. Glance at accurate history books in the last 300 years and you'll recognize similar patterns. For Jesus said in Matthew 24: 6-7 'And wars will break out near and far, but don't panic. Yes, these things must come, but the end won't follow immediately. The nations and kingdoms will proclaim war against each other, and there will be famines and earthquakes in many parts of the world.' Mark 13 reiterates this same message! This is NOT a lie! The message has still not been spread to all the corners of the earth and we are not suffering pain and torment for our faith. This still will occur first before we are judged.

So tell me, is the bible lying or is Harold Camping giving you false prophecy. Remember Revelation 22: 18 'And I solemnly declare to everyone who hears the prophetic words of this book: If anyone adds anything to what is written here, God will add to that person the plagues described in this book.' The bible is not a hidden code book! Everything is scripturally true and everybody who looks at it has the ability to discover what is there.

So then, would you tell me that we are in the 1000 years of peace? NO! We still face at least 1000 years until Judgement Day and until then, nobody knows. Still, use these messages to realize that Jesus will come back and we need to stand up for our faiths! Please listen... Harold Camping is picking and choosing versus out of the bible. Only a prophet would claim to know the end of the world, and a prophet with divine intervention would NEVER BE WRONG! September of 1994 is proof enough that he is fishing for anything that supports his beliefs.

I beg you... read all of the words please. He is not God and only God knows all about specific dates and times. The dates and times within the bible provided to us are the only ones that are true. Unless it says directly in Scripture, it will not happen. The Bible provides the answers we need to know and no more. There are no hidden messages.

Have you trusted Christ as your Savior?
There's no time like the present if you haven't.
You know in your heart if you are saved. You have an
assurance, God's Word. Christ became the perfect sacrifice,
taking the penalty for our sins on himself. He took our place.
Every person on the planet has sinned or transgressed, sometimes with out knowing.
But you're not responsible for those true moments of ignorance. What you are responsible is
for what you are, a sinner, as in, one who sins. Like, any lie, lustful thought, hateful or hate filled feeling towards another human, bitterness, envy. You get the picture. stuff we've all done, and do every day. If Heaven is perfect, there is no way anyone is getting in without Jesus. See, He WAS perfect and without sin. God's Word says so. Because He was God's chosen replacement for us, by believing in faith what He did by dying paid your sin bill, then my friend , you are saved. All it takes is a true, heartfelt and mindful prayer, asking for forgiveness for what you are, what you've done, and asking Jesus to come into your heart and save your soul. Sounds simple, right? Because it is! It's about RELATIONSHIP, not religion. If you have done this, asked God's forgiveness, celebrate my friend, you are a child of God. Now go get a good King James 1611 Bible and learn about God, who is is, what He does, what He did...you get the picture. Once you get to know Him, you'll fall in love like you never have before. You can have a personal relationship with your Creator. Just ask. Ask and it shall be give, Knock and it shall be opened unto you, Seek and ye shall find". God bless you. See you in Heaven. My name is Cathy. Remember that. :o)

" to sell their things and give away their children " . . .

Are they going to take those money with them, but not their kids?

If it doesn't happen then what? can this group or person, who has started this idea of May 21st, be held accountable if there is mass suicides?

Great questions asked in the comments. What will these nuts do that gave away their kids? Don't they think their kids will be going with them? Shouldn't they make sure nothing bad happens to them before they are sent to heaven?

Since nothing will happen on Saturday, what date will this guy create next time..and then the next time? Well, he is 89 and will die soon. So that will be the end of his speculations.

As for the rest of you who are SO worried about going to hell? If you are "saved", what are you worried about? ;-) I doubt I'd miss the 2% who leave, since I'll be among those 98% "left behind". At least I'll be in good company.

False prophets should be stoned. But, this is the 21st century, so let's just label Harold, mad as a hatter!
As for the 'rapture', it's a mystery, isn't it? First the dead in Christ will rise, then we who are alive will be 'snatched up' to meet the Lord in the air and forever be with the Lord.
Well, if you don't see any dead rise on the 21st, then there's a problem.
There have been a number of people who said they deciphered codes from the scriptures to predict the end of the world. Guess what? It didn't happen! These misguided people forget that 'No one knows the day or hour', so I guess Harold knows something that Jesus doesn't know. God has a time table for events to take place, and man has no business trying to second guess the Lord.

the Bible is the authority on this. and he must be missing the page that tells that, Angles, or the son of god (Jesus) does not know the time or day, only God the Father. unless he is declaring himself God the Father, which I sure wouldn't want to do. He is causing a great number of people to think that all Christians are like he is. I just pray that this won't turn thousands away from Christ Jesus...

I am very sad for those who have been following this lie that the rapture will occur on May 21st. Even if they attempt to explain away “No one knows about that day or hour, not even the angels in heaven nor the Son, but only the Father” (Mark 13:32), they cannot explain away that most every Christian, theologian, scholar, and prophet from the first Century until the Nineteenth Century all believed that the church would go through the Great Tribulation and not escape through some secret rapture that would leave the world paralyzed. I pray that they will take a moment and read my book, “Final Warning” because the hour of is His judgment has come.

The Bible also says no man knows the time nor the day of Christ's return. Not even Jesus knows, only the father. So I find this funny how Camping is pretty much claiming to be God in saying he knows the date Christ returns.

Mr Camping... world's biggest troll.
At least he knows what a troll is.

And I hope he goes to jail for the disruption and death he causes amongst the innocent.
Honestly I've given up on christianity.

I wish evangelists were more concise when they talk.
Christianity to me was a message of peace, originally. Some of the bible has been maliciously altered by bygone laws.

Think logically, the bible was written in ink... By men.

If you say you support this, shame on you.
Camping is the modern day Muhammad... Changing an existent religion maliciously to cause mischief and terror.

If this does happen and God sends me to hell for what? Said blasphemy? All I can say he's no God of mine.
And what's heaven? Blank smile, bright halos, sustained happiness, nudity, cheese, laying on clouds? Despite the artistic flaw that heaven is depicted as clouds... Those clouds are destroyed. Eternal heaven I think NOT.

I'd follow an early religion, why should I abandon something older just because a sociopath says so. And what's the timezone? GMT here. Americans are so vain. In Hollywood, if America is destroyed the whole world is apparently obliterated.

yours faithfully,
Steve Magnet

“The Bible is the authority.” Well in the Bible (Matthew 25:13) Jesus says, "So you, too must keep watch! For you do not know the day or hour of my return." There it is.... As simple as that! Jesus has said we will not know the date or hour so why is it that people believe otherwise?? I'm glad that they are getting the word out, but don't just let some of the word go, let people know all of it and allow them to make their own decisions.

ok this good to know, i bet some people are running to church, and everything, to try and get to heaven? unfortunately, the problem is this too bad. Because god dosen't dwell in houses made by man, he dwells in the flesh made by god? if you can't figure this out by now you will never get there.

Well, I have a personal relationship with God. I will except no mark of the beast, no matter how tempted. The King James version of the Bible? The word version means something people. It was the King's beleifs in what the original Bible said. Like I said, I have a personal relationship with God, no old man with hair growing out of his ears is going to scare me. I just heard on the news that they have raised $100,000,000 for this, hmm there you have it MONEY. Also, on the news people have now gone missing and relatives are worried. I say that we through a stone at this old man for every person that dies because of him. No one will know but God almighty when the day comes. Oh, and this was supposed to start at the international dateline at 6pm, guess what? It is 7pm 21 May 2011 in New Zealand! Both the North and South Islands are quite fine. He was wrong AGAIN.

This is nonsense, apparently everyday these days is the end of the world.
If this 'story' of the end of the earth doesn't occur, will the predictions carry on for years and years to come?, i just think people need to chill out, get on with their lives, make the best of what they can for themselves and stop waiting for the end of time. Life is for living, it's not worth waiting for the end.
Fair enough if you believe in God, I myself am a none believer but I really dont think there is a guy out there who created us is waiting on a date to come and kill us all off, I also don't believe theres a firey guy under the ground waiting in hell for us. The end of time will come when it is ready, and that won't be for a VERY long time i'm certain.
...Don't let these 'Stories' scare you.

I was under the impression, that when he does come to earth. He could be reborn again to another Mary and a Joseph and as far as I know, he was crucified when he was 28 years old. So doesn't that mean he will freight the devil when is 28 once again? But I also heard something about he could be reborn on October 21 too. Tocco
