From playing a werewolf in horror drama Being Human and a midshipman in a space-liner in Doctor Who, Russell Tovey is taking the lead role in the new BBC sitcom Him & Her, of which the first of the six episodes is due to be broadcast on BBC3 on Monday 6 September 2010. His co-star is Sarah Solemani, who played Jenny in Roman’s Empire in 2007. Together, they are Steve and Becky, a pair of layabouts who hang around in Steve’s bedsit doing nothing but eating, drinking and having sex.
Steve, though, is not happy. He just wants to be alone with Becky but their slobbish life keeps being interrupted, whether it be by Dan (played by Joe Wilkinson) from upstairs, Becky’s sister Laura (played by Kerry Howard) and her boyfriend Paul (played by Ricky Champ), or Becky’s parents Nigel and Jill (played by Ralph Brown and Marion Bailey).
