Kat Von D and Jesse James confirmed on January 20, 2011, that they are engaged. The LA Ink starlette and her West Coast Chopper boyfriend have been together only six short months. They were first seen cozying up to each other in Las Vegas in August of 2010. On Monday night Kat was seen at the Art of Elysium charity gala sporting a fabulous diamond ring on her ring finger setting rumors of an engagement ablaze. The tattooed duo took to their Twitter accounts to confirm suspicions.
Sweet Tweets Confirm Their Engagement
Jesse James started the Twitter PDA early yesterday afternoon when he Tweeted in Spanish, "@thekatvond Me gustaría estar con ustedes en este momento. Incluso si tan sólo pudiera tomar tu mano, como aquella primera noche." Roughly translated this means, "I would like to be with you this moment. Even if I can only hold your hand, like the first night." He continued with the language of love saying, "@thekatvond para siempre mi amor," meaning, "forever my love."
Kat Von D replied this morning, leaving no doubt as to whether the two are engaged, "Waking up to what @FreeJesseJames said about our engagement this morning brought tears to my eyes, in the best way possible ..." She went on to say, "@FreeJesseJames I guess the "kat" is outta the bag, eh? ?" Then, thanking all her fans for their well wishes she Tweeted, "Thank you for all the wonderful, loving congratulations from you all ... Overwhelmed with joy right now!"
The Couple Talks to People Magazine
James told People Magazine, "You know sometimes the public and press gets it wrong. This is one of those times. 2010 was actually the best year of my life because I fell in love with my best friend -- an amazing woman who stood behind me when the world turned their backs." James is no doubt referring to last year when he was virtually hanged by the media after news of his infidelity and divorce from Sandra Bullock rocked the entertainment world.
James went on to say, "I have never met anyone so kind and loving and committed to making the world a better place every day. My love for her is beyond description. So honored that she said 'yes.' Growing old with her is going to be a f----n' blast!"
Kat also spoke to People saying, "There is no one else for me. He's the one." When asked if she would move to Texas to be with James she replied, "In the end, home is where the heart is, and my heart's with him."
