Lady Gaga dominated the MTV Video Music Awards on Sunday, September 12, 2010, picking up eight moonman statues out of 13 nominations. Gaga won the top award of the night, Video of the Year, wearing a ridiculous dress made of red meat. Pop diva Cher looked fabulous wearing the same black see through leotard that shocked the audience in 1989.
Lady Gaga Three Outfits On Stage
Lady Gaga picked up eight MTV VMA awards, but her accomplishments were nearly overshadowed by her choice of wardrobe. Known for her bizarre costumes, Gaga wore three outfits on stage: an Alexander McQueen couture fantasy, a heavy Georgio Armani black leather gown and an outrageous dress made of meat.
She arrived at the awards show looking like a fantasy dream in a couture gown by the late designer Alexander McQueen. She wore the gown, accesorized by Alexander McQueen armadillo shoes with 12 inch heels, when she accepted the award for Best Female Video for Bad Romance.
Accepting the Best Pop Video Award for Bad Romance, Gaga wore a big black leather dress by Georgio Armani. Gaga apologized for being slow getting to the stage because her gown was so heavy.
Gaga accepted the Video of the Year Award wearing an outrageous dress made of red meat. The ridiculous dress was not only in poor taste, it must have posed a health hazard to Gaga and others.
Gaga made an announcement that title of her next song would by 'Born This Way' and sang a lyric, but the moment was entirely overshadowed by her bizarre choice of wardrobe.
Cher Presents the MTV VMA Video of the Year Award
Pop icon Cher presented the Video of the Year Award. Famed for her provocative and glamorous wardrobe, Cher wore the same black see-through leotard that she shocked the audience with 20 years ago when she won the award for 'If I Could Turn Back Time.' The singer/actress, 64, joked that she was the oldest person in the room, was wearing the skimpiest outfit and had the biggest hair. Cher also noted that her outfit, which shocked the audience over 20 years ago, was pretty tame by today's standards.
