The poems are based on handwritten journals and diaries, letters, hotel paper and notes written to herself, according to MacMillan, the company that is selling the finished book. In addition to the poetry of the late actress, numerous photographs will be published alongside them throughout the book.
Monroe’s poetry reveals a great deal about the woman herself and makes her accessible on an intimate level that is not possible through reading biographies or watching her films.
