History of the Naruto Manga, in Japan and US

Naruto is the creation of manga artist Masashi Kishimoto. The manga made its debut in the popular manga magazine Weekly Shonen Jump, which has also been the home to other popular manga like Dragon Ball and One Piece. Naruto quickly gained popularity, and to date has sold over 100 million volumes of manga.

The manga made its way to the US in 2003, in the second issue of VIZ Media's monthly Shonen Jump magazine. The first collected volume was released later that year, and the manga has been selling well ever since.

Naruto has also inspired two anime series, Naruto and Naruto Shippuden, as well as several animated movies. The anime series can be viewed online through VIZ Media's streaming anime website, VIZ Anime, as well as many other video streaming hubs.
