The Kardashian family has been reality TV royalty ever since their first show, "Keeping up with the Kardashians" aired on E!. That one show has turned into several spin offs including "Kourtney and Khloe Take Miami", "Kourtney and Kim Take New York" and now "Khloe and Lamar".
Khloe Blogs about the New Show
Today, January 5, 2011, Khloe took to her blog to excitedly announce the big news about her new show. She wrote, "Ok dolls, it’s official! Lamar and I will soon begin filming our very own show on E! called Khloe & Lamar! WOOOOHOOOOOOOO! How exciting is this?! It’s been an option since we got married, but we wanted to enjoy our first year in private."
Khloe explains furthur, "With Keeping Up with the Kardashians, only a very small part of our life together is shown, but with this show, we’re putting it ALL out there LOL." The show will document the life of the E! Starlette and her Lakers hubby, but will also feature her brother Rob Kardashian, as he lives with the couple. Kardashian promises that the show will be very entertaining saying, "Trust me, there will be lots of laughs...Lamar and I could not be more thrilled about this. It’s showtime baby!!!!"
Will Khloe and Lamar be Struck with the Reality Show Couples Curse?
Khloe and Lamar are taking a big chance by putting their life out there like this. Many celebrities who have done so before would probably not recommend it. Will Khloe and Lamar fall victim to what is known as the reality show couples curse? What is this curse, you ask? Well, couples who agree who do reality shows together have a habit of breaking up after or even during the show! Don't believe me? Here are some examples:
- Jessica Simpson and Nick Lachey: What started out as a sweet romance turned ugly after the two starred in MTV's Newlyweds.
- Hulk and Linda Hogan: The professional wrestler and his wife split after the show, Hogan Knows Best, chronicled their life together.
- Jon and Kate Gosselin: Jon and Kate Plus 8 was a show about a normal couple and their eight children. The family was later torn apart in a nasty divorce that played out in the tabloids.
- Bobby Brown and Whitney Houston: Their show, Being Bobby Brown, ended in 2005. Shortly after their relationship ended as well.
- Brittney Spears and Kevin Federline: Brittney and Kevin: Chaotic only aired for two months, but still, the couple was doomed!
I hope Khloe and Lamar know what they are getting into. And it seems like they do. The Kardahian family members are pros when it comes to reality TV. Maybe Khloe and Lamar will follow in the steps of Kardashian clan mama, Kris, and her husband Bruce Jenner, who have a seemingly stable marriage despite living in front of cameras.
