This is a complete list of guns for each respective faction. In parenthesis next to the weapons name is the number of skill points required for each weapon to be unlocked. Default weapons are given to a player when joining a faction. RPGs, weapon attachments, electronics, grenades and grenade launchers have not been included in this list.
Raven Weapons
Ravens has a few stand out weapons. The ATAC 2000 has good accuracy for its class and is alo pretty stable. The R-553 has good stopping power and is easier to control than most others in its class. The KP45 MG has a better fire rate than most other MMGs.
- Assault Rifle: Hollis A3 (default)
- Assault Rifle: ATAC 2000 (3)
- Battle Rifle: R-553 (5)
- Pistol: F57 (default)
- Machine Pistol: KP7 (3)
- Sub Machine Gun: F90 (3)
- Shotgun: Boudini 12 Gauge (5)
- Sniper Rifle: H M 90 (default)
- Sniper Rifle: Janas SWS (3)
- Improved Sniper Rifle: AM50 (5)
- Light Machine Gun: APEX 100 (default)
- Medium Machine Gun: KP45 MG (5)
Ravens worst performing weapons are their submachine gun and improved sniper rifles. The F90 while accurate has very little stopping power. The AM50 has a lot of stopping power but a very slow fire rate.
S.E.V.R. Weapons
S.E.V.R.'s best performers are the sub machine gun and the second tier sniper rifle. While Vipera-2 is an average weapon it has a extra large carrying capacity that makes it nice in tight areas. The S-98 is only 3 skill points to unlock and unless a player is into taking down turrets with a sniper rifle it is a much better investment than the AGVK.
- Assault Rifle: AK-74U (default)
- Assault Rifle: AG-94 (3)
- Battle Rifle: AK-103 (5)
- Pistol: IZ-443(default)
- Machine Pistol: Kurtis 45ACP (3)
- Sub Machine Gun: Vipera-2 (3)
- Shotgun: T-195 (5)
- Sniper Rifle: SASR (default)
- Sniper Rifle: S-98 (3)
- Improved Sniper Rifle: AGVK (5)
- Light Machine Gun: Rtk-74 (default)
- Medium Machine Gun: PSK MG (5)
The PSK MG has a lot of stopping power but its accuracy and fire rate make it one of S.E.V.R.'s worst buys. The AK-103 is not a bad weapon but lacks accuracy when spraying. It does do a decent amount of damage and when the grip and reflex sight are mounted it is improved.
Valor Weapons
Valor has the best medium assault rifle. The SFCR -LW does more damage than the M4A1 without sacrificing accuracy like its heavyweight counterpart. The Mk43 Mod 1 is hard to control but has the stopping power to take down a whole squad with one magazine.
- Assault Rifle: M4A1 (default)
- Assault Rifle: SFCR-LW (3)
- Battle Rifle: SFCR-HW (5)
- Pistol: M9 (default)
- Machine Pistol: Hollis MP (3)
- Sub Machine Gun: KP5 (3)
- Shotgun: 12 Gauge Pump (5)
- Sniper Rifle: MK 14 Mod 0 EBR (default)
- Sniper Rifle: L96AW (3)
- Improved Sniper Rifle: Rollins LRSS (5)
- Light Machine Gun: MK 46 Mod 0 (default)
- Medium Machine Gun: Mk 43 Mod 1 (5)
Valors KP5 is called "the gold standard" in the skill menu but is so much less accurate than other submachine guns that it is hardly worth the skill points. The L96AW is a good sniper rifle when the bipod is deployed but has a pretty bad recoil for a smaller machine gun. The Rollins LRSS is a better weapon for Valor snipers who appreciate precision.
Faction Armor Types
Each faction gets issued different armor. It is hard to tell if there are any advantages to the different types of armor in MAG. In real life the different types of armor are not the same at all.
In MAG, Raven uses “composite” material. In real life composite armor is made from a special resin. Composite armor is the top of the line armor that elite military forces wear.
Valor wears “fiber”, this is the term used for KEVLAR style vests they are made from special fabric and composite material to form protective coverings. The U.S. military uses KEVLAR helmets and armor.
The faction that gets the worst armor is S.E.V.R. they wear “ballistic” armor. Ballistic armor is made of ceramic or plastic reinforced with steel. Ballistic armor is used for protection by police officers or other law enforcement agencies. It is primarily used when automatic or high caliber weapons are not a factor.
In real life Raven would be at a huge advantage, the composite armor is the strongest, and though it's weight is comparable to that of ballistic armor, it is lighter than fiber made material.
