On September 11, 2001, the world held its breath. People from all walks of life, from all over the world, watched the tragedy unfold before their eyes, live, on television. The world stood still and watched in horror as four commercial jet airplanes slammed into various targets on American soil at the hands of hijackers. Flights were diverted to other countries and the airspace over the United States came to a complete standstill. Nearly 3,000 souls from more than 70 countries lost their lives that day. And like it or not, life as we knew it would never be the same.
