A Boyfriend for Christmas (2005) - In this Hallmark movie, Santa brings two lonely people together for the holidays. (Not Rated)

The Christmas Card (2006) - This made for TV movie tells the story of a U.S. Army Sergeant who returns from Afghanistan to California to take the possessions of a soldier to the man's widow. On his way, he meets a woman who writes church Christmas cards. Things get entangled when he saves her father from a car accident. (Not Rated)

Christmas in the Clouds (2001) - This film was featured at the 2001 Sundance Film Festival. It tells the story of mistaken romantic identity at a ski resort during the holiday season. This is the first romantic comedy to feature an all American Indian cast. (Rated PG)

The Family Man (2000) - Nicholas Cage stars as a workaholic bachelor who is given the opportunity to see what his life would have been like had he married his college sweetheart. (Rated PG-13)The Family Stone (2005) - Sarah Jessica Parker plays an uptight businesswoman who goes to meet her boyfriend's free-spirited family over the Christmas holidays. Overwhelmed by their colourful ways, Parker asks her sister to join her for moral support, adding to the chaos. (Rated PG-13)

The Holiday (2006) - This romantic comedy features a top-notch cast - Cameron Diaz, Kate Winslet, Jude Law, and Jack Black. Two women on opposite sides of the Atlantic Ocean are plagued with guy trouble and decide to swap houses for the holidays. In their new, respective homes, each woman falls for a local guy. (Rated PG-13)

Just Friends (2005) - A man was spurned by his high school crush and her rejection turned him into a womanizer. They meet again years later when he returns home for Christmas. (Rated PG-13)

Love Actually (2003) - This holiday heart-puller follows the lives of ten very different people from late November to Christmas Eve in London, England. (Rated R)

Noel (2004) - Five strangers in New York City come together on Christmas Eve, all of them hoping for a miracle. This romantic drama stars Susan Sarandon, Penélope Cruz, and Paul Walker. (Rated PG)

The Perfect Holiday (2007) - A young girl asks a department store Santa for help finding her divorced mother a new man. (Rated PG)

Serendipity (2001) - A couple meet and fall in love in one night but decide to let fate decide if they'll see each other again. Years later, no longer believing destiny should be allowed such a decision, the two try to find one another. (Rated PG-13)

Christmas Romance Movies From the 80s and 90s

Borrowed Hearts (1997) - This made for TV flick tells the story of a hard-working single mother who is striving to buy a house for herself and her daughter. Things get complicated when a businessman and her boss enter the picture. (Rated All Ages)

Mixed Nuts (1994) - In this Steve Martin romantic comedy, things get a little crazy for the people working on a crisis hotline on Christmas Eve. (Rated PG-13)

The Preacher's Wife (1996) - This remake of The Bishop's Wife (see below) stars Denzel Washington and Whitney Houston. A reverend finds his relationship with his wife is in jeopardy because his focus is on rebuilding the neighbourhood they live in. An angel comes to help the reverend find his way but seems to be more of a burden than a help. (Rated PG)

While You Were Sleeping (1995) - A lonely woman pretends to be engaged to a man in a coma but she can't fool his attractive brother. Sandra Bullock stars in this romantic holiday flick. (Rated PG)

Classic Holiday Love Stories

The Bishop's Wife (1947) - A bishop is so focused on his quest to get a new cathedral built that he loses sight of why he became a member of the church. An angel is sent to help him regain his focus. (Rated General)

Christmas in Connecticut (1945) - A food writer who portrays herself as a superb homemaker on a farm is actually a single New Yorker who can't make toast; she gets her recipes from a friend. The magazine publisher who prints her columns decides to spend Christmas on her alleged farm with her. How can she keep her secret? (Rated G)

Holiday Affair (1949) - Thanks to a customer, a department store clerk gets fired. The two end up on a date to the delight of her son and the dismay of her current beau. (Unrated)

Holiday Inn (1942) - Bing Crosby and Fred Astaire play a singer and a dancer who are vying for the affections of a woman who frequents the supper club where they work. (Rated G in most countries)

It's a Wonderful Life (1946) - This is one of the most popular and enduring holiday movies of all time. An angel helps a lovable but frustrated businessman who is contemplating suicide see what life would be like if he had never existed. (Rated G in Canada)

White Christmas (1954) - A song-and-dance act of two men meet up with a two women song-and-dance act. The men follow the women to a lodge in Vermont where the ladies are doing a Christmas show and romantic entanglements follow. (Rated G)
