Taste of Chicago 2010 Dates and Times
The Taste of Chicago for 2010 will begin on Friday, June 25, 2010 and last until Sunday July 4, 2010. The annual Taste of Chicago is traditionally held during the Fourth of July season. The ten-day festival will have various hours each day. For the first eight days of the festival, the Taste of Chicago will be open from 11 a.m. until 9 p.m. daily. On Saturday, July 3, 2010, the festival will close early at 7 p.m, and on Sunday, July 4, 2010, the festival will end at 6 p.m. Tickets can be purchased for up to 30 minutes before the closing of the Taste of Chicago.
Location of the Taste of Chicago
The Taste of Chicago will be located in Grant Park, Illinois, and covers the span of four neighborhoods. These neighborhoods include Streeterville, Lincoln Park, Hyde Park and Grant Park. The main entrance to the festival is located at the corner of Michigan Avenue and Congress Drive in Grant Park.
Entertainment at the 2010 Taste of Chicago
Each day, the Taste of Chicago will feature a variety of entertainment at numerous locations, including the Petrillo Music Shell, the Illinois Lottery Taste Stage and the Best Buy Stage. Complimentary music concerts include appearances by Salt-n-Pepa, Bell Biv Devoe, Gavin Rossdale (former front man of Bush), Emily Osment, Los Lobos, Mat Kearney, Rob Thomas and the Steve Miller Band.
Other entertainment is provided, including an 80’s tribute day and a Fourth of July fireworks show at three locations: Navy Pier, the North Side of Chicago and the South Side of Chicago.
Cost of the 2010 Taste of Chicago Festival
The Taste of Chicago Festival has always offered complimentary admission and entertainment. Entering the festival is completely free as well as enjoying non-stop music and Fourth of July fireworks in Chicago. Visitors may purchase food and beverage tickets in strip of 12 for $8.00 per strip. Each food vendor requires an individually determined amount of tickets for a “taste” of their specialty. Visitors to the festival can purchase tickets with cash, Visa, MasterCard and American Express credit cards.
