From June 3 - 6, 2010, around 130 of the world’s most powerful people including heads of state, royalty, international bankers and senior businessmen will meet together in Sitges, Spain for the annual Bilderberg Group conference. The Bilderberg Group meets in secret for off the record discussions on world issues under the Chatham House Rule, whereby participants are not allowed to disclose what was said, and representatives from the media who are invited are sworn to secrecy.
Prince Bernhard of the Netherlands founded the group with their first meeting in 1954. Well known Bilderberg attendees in recent years include David Rockefeller, Henry Kissinger, Vice President Joe Biden, Secretary of Treasury Timothy Geithner, former Federal Reserve Chairman Paul Volcker. Bilderbergers in the UK include former Prime Ministers Tony Blair and Gordon Brown, David Miliband, Ed Balls and Chancellor George Osborne.
Despite its secrecy, several independent journalists such as Jim Tucker and Daniel Estulin have managed to report on Bilderberg’s activites. Through inside sources such as attendees assistants and hotel staff, they have been able to obtain details of what was said during meetings, and underscore the aims and agenda of Bilderberg, and have even predicted the 2008 economic downturn from knowing what was discussed at Bilderberg meetings.
An Agenda for One World Government?
When asked about Bilderberg, the group's chairman, Etienne Davignon said in an interview "I simply think it's people who have influence interested to speak to other people who have influence in a forum that allows them to speak freely and to examine their differences of opinion without criticism and public debate over their views."
However, researchers such as Daniel Estulin, author of The True Story of the Bilderberg Group, argue that the group’s real agenda is more sinister, that of a one world government, controlled by an elite group. Estulin in his book lists out more specific aims towards that end:
- Empowering international institutions, to create an international identity.
- Zero-economic growth across the world, with a redistribution of wealth and labour.
- Manufacturing crisis after crisis so that the people will become apathetic and easily controlled.
- Creating international trading blocks, such as the EU and a North American Union
- Expanding powers of the UN, including the creation of global taxation to the UN.
One common practice of the Bilderberg Group is to invite potential future heads of state to their meetings, to see if they will go along with their agenda. To cite a few examples, George H. W. Bush attended the 1985 meeting, Bill Clinton attended in 1991, Tony Blair in 1993, and Ramano Prodi, former head of the EU Commission in 1999. Both Barak Obama and Hilary Clinton are believed to have attended the 2008 meeting in Washington D.C.
The former British Chancellor and Bilderberger Dennis Healey has said “To say we were striving for a one world government is exaggerated, but not wholly unfair.”
How does the Bilderberg Group Rule the World?
Below are just a few examples of plans and discussions which have taken place at Bilderberg meetings, according to the various researchers inside sources.
- At the 1955 Bilderberg meeting held in Germany, members discussed the agenda to form the European Union with a single European currency. Bilderberg chairman Etienne Davignon has boasted that Bilderberg helped to create the Euro.
- In 1973 they increased the price of oil to $12 a barrel, a 350% jump.
- In 1989 they worked to have British Prime Minister Margaret Thatcher removed from office, because she was too euro-sceptic.
- At the June 2002 meeting, they decided to postpone the attack on Iraq until March 2003.
- In 2005 they discussed imposing a UN tax on people worldwide through a direct tax on oil.
- In 2008 they discussed implanting microchips into humans.
- In 2009 they discussed how to restructure the global economy, and plans to turn the World Health Organization into a world department of health, and the IMF into a global treasury.
Whatever happens after June 6 2010, perhaps we should be asking. Is this something the Bilderbergers were planning at their meeting in Spain?
