Tony Bennett, 85, hit the Billboard Top 100, becoming the oldest artist to hit the charts. Bennett's hit song was 'Body and Soul,' with Amy Winehouse.

Crooner Tony Bennett set a record by becoming the oldest artist to hit the Billboard Top 100, according to a September 24, 2011, report from Billboard. Bennett, at 85, shows no signs of slowing down as the singer continues his success.

Tony Bennett's duet with the late singer Amy Winehouse, Body and Soul, hit 87 on the Billboard charts. Bennett became the oldest artist ever to break the top 100 on Billboard. The former record holder was George Burns, whose hit I Wish I was 18 hit the Top 100 when he was 84.

This is not Bennett's first time on the Billboard Top 100. The crooner has had a chart topper on Billboard every decade during the 53 year existence of Billboard, which is an amazing accomplishment.

Tony Bennett and Amy Winehouse

Tony Bennett and Amy Winehouse recorded Body and Soul for Duets II at Abbey Road Studio in London, England. It turned out to be Winehouse's last recording session. Amy Winehouse was found dead in her London apartment on July 23, 2011.

“It was a thrill to record with Amy Winehouse and when you listen to the recording of “Body and Soul,” it is a testament to her artistic genius and her brilliance as one of the most honest musicians I have ever known,” said Tony Bennett, in a quote issued through the MTV VMA Awards.

Tony Bennett, along with Bruno Mars and Russell Brand, led a tribute to Amy Winehouse at the MTV VMA Awards on August 28, 2011. Bennett spoke glowingly of Winehouse's gift as a jazz singer, comparing her singing style to that of jazz greats Ella Fitzgerald and Billie Holiday.

The recording was released on September 14, 2011, which would have been Amy Winehouse's birthday, making the success of the musical venture even more meaningful.
