On Thursday, August 4, 2011, the remaining 6 contestants on Season 8 of So You Think You Can Dance performed together, and the voting results were revealed.

Host Cat Deeley opened the show with the dire phrase "What have you done?", as America's votes from the previous night determined who the Final 4 dancers would be for Season 8 of So You Think You Can Dance.

SYTYCD Season 8 - Top 6 Group Routine

The Top 6 contestants performed a contemporary piece together, choregraphed by Justin Giles. They danced to "Grown Unkown" by Lia Ices, and the remaining 6 dancers adapted well to Justin's musical style.

At the judges table for this episode were producer and choreographer Nigel Lythgoe, ballroom expert Mary Murphy, and krumper Lil' C. However, for the first time this season, the judges did not decide who would be going home and who would be moving on in the competition.

SYTYCD Season 8 - Top 6 Final Solos

The Top 6 dancers performed one last solo for the audience before their results were revealed. Sasha's contemporary solo was set to "We Gonna Win" by Miri Ben-Ari featuring Styles P. Caitlynn performed her jazz solo to "Touch" by Natasha Bedingfield, and Melanie's contemporary solo was set to "My Love" by Sia.

Tadd performed his b-boy solo to "Only So Much Oil in the Ground" by Tower of Power, and Marko's jazz solo was set to "You Give Me Something (Acoustic)" by James Morrison. Ricky performed his contemporary solo to "Requiem for a Tower" by London Music Works & Clint Mansell.

SYTYCD Season 8 - Guest Performances

There were three guest performances in this episode. First, as a tribute to the emmy-nominated choreography from Season 7, the season's winner and runner-up, Lauren Froderman and Kent Boyd, performed one of their routines. They danced to "Collide (Acoustic)" by Howie Day, with choreography by Travis Wall. Viewers of the show would recognize this as the "prom routine".

Cat also slipped in that next week's All-Stars will be Lauren, Robert, Mark and Season 4 winner Joshua.

The next guest performance was from the Bad Boys of Dance, led by Rasta Thomas and featuring his wife, Adrienne Canterna. They performed to "Derezzed" from the Tron: Legacy soundtrack. Bad Boys of Dance, as well as Adrienne's sister company Pretty Girls of Dance, have also previously featured SYTYCD alumni including Robert Roldan and Jaimie Goodwin.

American Idol's Pia Toscano gave the final performance of the episode, with her new single "This Time".

SYTYCD Season 8 - Top 6 Results

With the girls on stage, Cat announced that they would first put through one person to the Final 4. This was not necessarily the highest vote getter from the night before. The first person to move on was Melanie.

Again, with the guys on stage, Cat announced the name of the second person to move on to the Finale. It was Marko.

Later in the episode, Sasha and Caitlynn were brought out on stage. Nigel reminded the audience that they were not necessarily sending one person "home", since they would be staying to perform with the rest of the Top 10 in the Finale and would be going on the tour. However, he commented that, while Caitlynn usually dances with her head (overthinking), Melanie dances from her heart and Sasha dances from her soul. After that, Cat announced that Sasha would be in the Finale.

With Tadd and Ricky on stage, none of the judges made a comment. Cat announced that the last person in the Final 4 was Tadd.

The Final 4 dancers in Season 8 of So You Think You Can Dance are Melanie, Marko, Sasha and Tadd, and they will be performing for the final audience vote next week.
