On November 20, Juno-award winning R&B artist Ivana Santilli kicks off the holiday season with a free concert in support of the Sick Kids Foundation.

The holiday season is once again upon us and Toronto invites merrymakers to join Juno-Award winning artist Ivana Santilli in the city’s posh Yorkville shopping district for a special celebration. On Saturday November 20th, local families and visitors to the city will be treated to a free show as the lights in the Bloor-Yorkville neighbourhood get switched on to officially kick off Toronto’s holiday celebrations – including the city’s famed Cavalcade of Lights.

Upcoming Seasonal Events in Toronto

Bloor-Yorkville’s Holiday Magic: Saturday, November 20, 2010 at 5 p.m.

Founded by entrepreneur Joseph Bloor in 1830, The Village of Yorkville has become a prime destination for shoppers in search of quality goods and services. Toronto residents, visitors and their families and friends are invited to the official kick-off to the holiday season: the “flick the switch” ceremony that will bring the Bloor-Yorkville area to life with the magic of the holidays.

  • Holiday Magic events will take place between Cumberland St. and Bellair St.
  • Complimentary hot apple cider and fresh baked cookies will be served.
  • Seasonal decorations will be on display.
  • R&B artist Ivana Santilli will perform a free concert.

Toronto’s Cavalcade of Lights: Saturday, November 27, at 7 p.m.

Toronto's 44th annual Cavalcade of Lights will take place in Nathan Phillips Square on Saturday, November 27, starting at 7 p.m. with the lighting of Toronto's official Christmas tree.

  • There will be live musical performances by Shawn Desman, Divine Brown and Sarah Slean.
  • A fireworks display will be held at 8:00 p.m.
  • Celebrations will conclude with a skating party celebrating 40 years of the Juno Awards.

The Toronto Santa Speedo Run: Saturday, December 11, 2010 at 1:30 p.m.

In this popular fundraising event, scantily-clad runners will make a mad dash to raise money for the Toys and Games Fund at the Hospital for Sick Children.

  • The run will start and end at Hemingway's Restaurant, 142 Cumberland St. in Toronto.
  • Runners will be clad in running shoes and Speedo bathing suits.
  • The three-kilometer run will take participants through the streets of Toronto’s Bloor-Yorkville neighbourhood.

Toronto residents and visitors who join them in celebrating the holiday season are invited to enjoy these great, free events, and encouraged to share in the spirit of the season by making cash and cheque donations to the "Sick Kids Foundation"
