You don't have to pay for letters from Father Christmas. Some websites have printables & templates that can create a free letter or email from Santa Claus.

Although some parents are happy to pay to have letters sent from Father Christmas, others need to keep costs low this Xmas. It may be worth looking at websites that offer printables and templates that can be downloaded, customized and printed to give a free letter from Santa Claus or an email message. What do these sites offer?

Using Printables and Templates to Create Free Letters From Santa

Some websites offer a free service that allows parents to download/print letters from Father Christmas. Generally, these will be based on templates – the number of options available will vary from site to site. Most will allow some customization or personalization and some, such as Free Letters From Santa Claus, also have envelope print options.

So, for example, you may be able to insert information relevant to your child such as:

  • Name and age.
  • The town/city in which you live.
  • What your child wants for Christmas (and is likely to get!).
  • Something that the child has done well/evidence of good behavior.
  • The name of a friend or relative.
  • School and/or teacher details.

Some printable templates may only allow a couple of customization options; others may go into more detail. All you need to do is to choose your design, personalize the relevant areas and you're done. The signed letter from Santa and/or envelope can then be printed off and mailed/put in the mailbox.

Setting up Free Emails From Santa Claus

Templates on some letter websites can also be sent as an email from Santa; some sites solely focus on this type of service. You could also consider getting your child involved during this process. Sites such as Santa's Postbag, for example, can be used to send an email to Father Christmas. Your child will then receive a reply from the man himself.

Alternatives to Using Free Letters From Santa Templates

If you have some word processing/design skills, then you could design your own letter from Santa. You can look at templates online to get some ideas of what to write if you're stuck for ideas. If you are looking for something a little different or letters that come with gifts or extras, then you may prefer to use a paid service as an alternative.

Most postal services also offer some way to write to/get letters from Father Christmas. In the UK, for example, Royal Mail operates a letter to Santa service for the cost of a couple of stamps. The children's charity, the NSPCC, can also be used to order letters for a suggested donation of £5 via its Wishes campaign.
