The great winter resorts of Vermont have been watching the weather and have announced their opening days for the coming winter season, 2008-2009. Ten of them will be open for business by Thanksgiving in late November, and an additional eight have announced plans to open before Christmas. Several of the ski resorts still have special prices on passes and offer packages throughout the season. Vermont’s resorts will open over the course of a month starting in mid-November with the big one, Killington.

Mount Snow
But Check The Weather
All of these dates, of course, are subject to the vagaries of New England weather. Mount Snow should open earlier than some of the smaller areas because of its snow making potential. Mad River Glen, on the other hand, is an entirely natural ski area, natural terrain, and natural snow so we will just have to wait for that to happen.
