Find out who Lauren from So You Think You Can Dance (SYTYCD) really is in addition to being America's Favorite Dancer.

On August 12, 2010, SYTYCD host, Cat Deely, announced Lauren Froderman as America's pick to win the title of Favorite Dancer. Lauren is the show's seventh winner, adding one more name to the list of talented athletes who have been voted into the winning spot since 2005.

Lauren Froderman's Biography in Brief

Born and raised in Phoenix, Arizona, Lauren has been dancing since she was three years old. At the youthful age of 18, Lauren is among the youngest winners on the show. Her prior dance experience includes 12 years of competitive training in ballet, contemporary, jazz, hip hop, and a little bit of tap. Lauren's dance style on So You Think You Can Dance was described as contemporary jazz.

Lauren's dance idols include the classical genius, Mikhail Baryshnikov and pop icon, Michael Jackson. Prior to working with them on the show, Lauren had received prior training from SYTYCD choreographers; Sonya Tayeh, Mandy Moore, Tyce Diorio, Travis Wall, and Wade Robson.

SYTYCD Winner's Prize

The first place winner, along with the title, America's Favorite Dancer, receives $250,000. In 2010, Lauren will also become the first dancer to be featured as a Gatorade athlete. In addition to that, Dance Spirit magazine will host the 18-year old high school graduate as its cover girl.

Because she is only 18, Lauren claims that she will save most of her monetary winnings, with the exception of a gift for her parents to show her appreciation of their unyielding love and support throughout her life.

Lauren's Future and the SYTYCD Tour

Despite the fact that Lauren is Season 7's winner, and the fact that she loves to dance, her dreams for her future include going to college and becoming a teacher. She plans to use her SYTYCD winnings to help pay for tuition.

The So You Think You Can Dance tour begins on September 19, 2010 in New Orleans. Performances will occur in 40 cities across the United States, with one stop in Toronto, Canada, and finish off on November 17, 2010 in Glendale, Arizona. In addition to Lauren, the SYTYCD tour will include Season 7 dancers; Adechike Torbert, Ashley Galvan, Billy Bell, and Jose Ruiz, along with the Season 6 winner, Russell Ferguson. Added to these new dancers, will be All-Stars from seasons past including, Ade Obayommi, Allison Holker, Dominic Sandoval, Kathryn McCormick, and Courtney Galiano.

For fans of the show and lovers of dance, in general, the Season 7 SYTYCD tour is set to be a crowd pleaser like none other. Tickets for the performances can be purchased online at Ticket Master.

I'm happy for Lauren, she was my favorite from the beginning. I used to be also a fan of Mia as a judge buy fame got into her brain and now she acts so pretentiously...on the other hand Mary Murphy, with her screaming and bad taste clothing, I just love her, she is natural and honest and no, fame hasn't got into her mind...Sorry for my English, second language...
