Yohimbe is a tree that grows in the warm and wet tropical climates of West Africa. The bark of this tree has been used by the native peoples of the area to cure a number of ailments, including fever, coughs, and leprosy.
However, it's use as an aphrodisiac is what first gained the attention of the Western world. The bark of the tree is processed and an alkaloid called Yohimbine is extracted, which is then used for medicinal purposes.
