From the classical Swan Lake to modern Alvin Ailey, Fosse to burlesque, Fred Astaire to Gregory Hines, and current phenomena like the reality television show "So You Think You Can Dance," Ballet, Jazz and Tap Dance can encompass a multitude of styles and concepts. When children learn the fundamentals of dance, ballet is established as the foundation for other styles. Jazz is the stylistic incorporation of movement, and tap involves freedom of the feet and percussive rhythms.
