Bone Injuries
Because sport involves physical movement and exertion the most common injuries are to the musculo-skeletal system - the bones, joints, muscles, ligaments and tendons which allow the body to move. Bones are the solid framework of the musculo-skeletal system and injury entails fractures of varying types and degrees. Fractures may be the result of direct blows or falls during play or stress fractures which are the result of repetitively exerting more stress on the bone than it can withstand.
As with the rest of the musculo-skeletal system bones can be strengthened with the correct exercises to help prevent injury.
