Brazil
With more than a 190 million inhabitants, Brazil is a world unto itself, divided from its neighbors due to the use of Portuguese and therefore with a distinctly varied approach to regional affairs. Gradually with Luis Inacio Lula Da Silva in charge as President, Brazil moved ahead of Argentina as the region's spokesperson. His protege Dilma Rousseff took over in 2010 and continues to steady the ship, selling valuable commodities to China and working towards both the Olympic Games in Rio de Janeiro in 2016 and the football World Cup in 2014. A powerhouse of tourism and industry, Brazil's economy may wobble in the future for being decidedly overvalued.
