One of the fun sides of using a computer is persuading it to do your will – a hobby that can turn into a career where each day brings new experiences and challenges.
Programming is the art of instructing a machine to solve a problem, usually in a more efficient manner than the human being alone. Not to mention the side of programming that leads towards pure entertainment –- the videogame.
During this course, the student is introduced to the concepts behind programming, and how they are implemented in the design of the C language. Each lesson contains examples and exercises that the student can play with in their own time, to sharpen their newly learned skills.
It cuts away all of the ‘scientific’ parts of the language, leaving only what is needed by the average programmer to complete useful tasks. Upon completing the course the student should be in a position to apply the programming mindset, backed up by the C language, to solve real business problems in the real world.
On the other hand, the course is also excellent preparation for more advanced study, or simply to be enjoyed as a hobby. Be careful, it is more exciting and addictive than the average nerd would have you believe...
Learning by example is a key technique used in all walks of life, and programming is no exception. During the course the student will learn how to build some useful business and leisure tools, problems are presented, and the student is expected to use what they have learned to solve them.
Each lesson, is accompanied by a summary test, where the student can gauge their progress by answering a set of multiple choice questions, which get progressively more difficult as the course progresses.
To accompany the course, there are clear pointers to interesting pieces of information, tools or utilities that the student can download or access via the internet to make the learning experience more entertaining and interactive.
So, come and join us, at best it will be a leg up on the career ladder, at worst a way to impress your friends.
