Dale Van Every
Dale Van Every is a freelance and fiction writer living in Minneapolis, Minnesota. He earned his Masters Degree in English Literature from Colorado State University & B.A. in English from Augsburg College, Minneapolis.
A former rock~n~roll drummer, he has also worked as a glazier (glass-cutter), a hotel bellman, a pencil salesman (office supplies), a snacks~n~beer clerk (Grand Teton National Park), and teacher. When not writing, he may be found reading, cooking, camping, reading, geocaching, enjoying Minnesota Gophers sports, reading, listening to Dylan, Santana, The Who, or traveling with his lovely and supportive wife, Josephine.
Dale is working on his first novel, attempting to market several short stories, and looking forward to contributing numerous articles to Suite 101. He also looks forward to fleshing out this profile.
**Update (Feb '09) And now he has!**
Greetings! I am pleased to have been named the Feature Writer for the Biographies & Memoirs section here at Suite 101. Eight of my articles have been chosen for an Editor's Choice Award:
- Anne Morrow Lindbergh: First Lady of the Air
- Review: Joseph Hosey's Fatal Vows
- Review: My Lobotomy by Howard Dully
- Minneapolis America's Most Literate City
- Beyond the Sports Huddle by Dave Mona
- Review: The Midwife by Jennifer Worth
- DVD Review: The Who / Who's Next
- Spam: The Cookbook by Marguerite Patten
Along with my biography-related articles, I contribute pieces on Minnesota sports, rock music, writer's resources, geocaching, and Minnesota travel. I also review fiction, and perhaps one or two of my recipes will soon show up as well.
In addition to Suite 101, I also contribute to Examiner.com as the Minneapolis Day Trips Examiner. I also maintain a Lit Blog, called Books 'N Ammo.
Here's a suggestion: In order not to miss any of the upcoming content, why not subscribe to an RSS feed of my, or any of your favorite Suite writers' articles? Access is available on any page.
