I just read the article About "Surprise From Lodi" The article is right on. I have been buying wine grapes from A1 Wine Grapes.com who selles fresh wine grapes from the Lodi appellation. They deliver the wine grapes right to your door step. Their Cab. has been enjoyed by me and alot of friends.-- posted by winemaker

In response to wine grapes posted by winemaker:Lodi grapes are beginning to get the recognition they deserve. Many wineries purchase their grapes from Lodi and have for many years. This region produces a large amount of wine grapes and I am happy that it is beginning to be acknowledged.
There are many great wineries in Lodi producing a variety of wines. They are probably most noted for their Old Vine Zinfandels.
If you haven't visited this wine region, do so in the near future. There are over 20 wineries with tasting rooms waiting for you to come sample. The Lodi Visitors Center on Turner Road in Lodi has wine tasting of wines produced from Lodi grapes......you might be surprised at the wineries from outside Lodi.
