» Indigo_Sky - Hi, Huw!
I'm subscribed to your topic, and find time to read your articles when I'm in-between deadlinesI'm newly married, and this marriage is the reason why I moved abroad. We're based in Singapore for the next 2 years or so. Then, we'd be off again somewhere. We're not sure where just yet.
My husband's a lecturer at a Polytechnic. And I'm a full time graduate student at a university here. I'm also a full time freelance writer/editor.
Thanks for asking.

Hi Shiela,Thanks for letting me know who you are.
I was in Singapore five years ago for some job interviews. Unfortunately nothing came of them, but it seemed a perfect city when you children have the age my two are now. It's clean, safe and friendly and a great place for touring the rest of SE Asia.
Is your husband Singaporean, or is he an expat too?

We Love Meeting World Travelers and Other Expats and meet a few hundred of them personally every year out of several thousand guests who stay at our small hotel near the Manila airports and our beachfront resort on Boracay Island. We find them much more friendly and interesting than "normal" people living in communities in the States. I'm an American and my wife is Filipina; we met in Seoul, S. Korea, in 1983. We've entertained guests from 75 nations so far. One example is a New Zealand guy, Tim, who also lived and worked in both Hong Kong ad Turkey is a computer networking specialist. His Filipina girlfriend, at the time, and now his wife, Jeen, stayed with us whenever her visa ran out wherever Tim was working. Expats from all over like English teachers working in Japan, Korea, and Taiwan have stayed with us. Good luck to you and your young family.-- posted by billandlorna

bill and lorna--maybe you can help me. I'm a writer doing a piece on people in the USA who decided to drop out of corporate jobs early and go try new lifestyles and adventures in other places. I'm looking to interview those who have "retired" early (say around 50) and changed lifestyles. Know anybody like that you could refer me to? If you need to know more about me, check my web page at thefirstbigride.com. Thanks Eloise-- posted by excorps
