» Elizabeth77 - rat introducing

I have currently adopted a new male rat and it's five weeks old. I have a male rat who is two years old and he hates the baby. I've tried all the things you're meant to do to introduce them but nothing has worked. My older rat won't eat, even though the baby is in a seperate cage and in a different room from him. Since I gave up I've never let them see eachother. Despite having clean sent-free hands and clothes my older rat attacks me if i go near him. I can't get him out of his cage. I'm thinking about giving away the male baby to a friend so i can earn the trust and friendship of my old one.

» video_gamer - trouble with my rats

My 2 rats (Snowflake and Marshmellow, both female) aren't getting along well at all. Marshmellow is exactly 1 year older than Snowflake. The odd thing is that Snowflake bullies Marshmellow. Snowflake is very hyper, territorial, and she bullies Marshmellow constantly. Marshmellow is a semi-shy, not-so-hyper, peaceful rat. I know it isn't because the cage is too small, because it's 16" by 28" by 36". What should I do if I want them too get along?

Hi there. I wanted to ask you if anyone helped you with your rat problem because I have a very simular one?

I have two female rats who I got together just over six months ago. They seem to get along, but the older one, Filia, is always bullying the younger one, Sylphiel. Filia is hyper and very curious, and Sylphiel is shy and fragile. It has got worse as they have gotten older. I have two older rats that I have had for a year now, but they live in a different cage. I get them all out together on the lounge, but never put them into the other pairs cage. All four get along, but basically every night I hear some really nasty squeeking coming from the younger pairs cage. I don't know why Filia picks on Syliphiel all the time.
