» Lynne_Remick - A Modern Day Sadie Hawkins
I must confess, I am a modern day Sadie! Although I am not "homely," (or at least I think notActually, he had wanted to ask me out for a long time, but I had a boyfriend. When I became free, I asked him to escort me and my son to the "Jerky Boys Private Screening," for which I had free tickets. Its a good thing it was free, because the movie stunk! Anyway, on February 2nd, that will be seven years ago!
Let's hear your Sadie stories!

Thanks for this article Lynne. I've never heard of this before. In England the 29th Feb is traditionally the day when women can propose marriage to med, but I don't think we have Sadie Hawkins Day. I didn't ask Mikael out, but I did propose because it looked as if he was going to take forever to get around to it - for which I earned the title of "Floozy" from my mother! I grew up in West Virginia and we celebrated Sadie Hawkins day on February 29 which only comes once every four years. It was a big celebration and with many events such as school dances etc. I had never heard of the November date each year for the celebration. Anyone else out there who did the February 29 celebration?-- posted by organlady
