I've never read any of the Outlander books, but this one will be added to my wish-list at Amazon.co.uk because it sounds a fascinating resource book for a writer of fiction.

I bought the first 2 books of Gabaldon's series as a Christmas present for myself this year. I haven't bothered w/reading romance stories since I was in college - a while ago I picked these up because they looked like there was more "meat" to them than your usual "cheap thrill" romances. WOW! I haven't laughed & cried my way through any book in years. My bath actually got cold, I was so wrapped up in finishing the end of the 2nd book. HAVE to get the other 3 in this series!
