South Asian dance encompasses all dance forms from the Indian subcontinent including the ancient Kalari, the classical Bharata Natyam, Odissi, Kathakali and Kathak, to dances from Sri Lanka such as the Kandyan Dance, to Bollywood's Filmi - a combination of old and modern dances popular at discos and parties and, of course, in Bollywood films.
