Karen Lotter
Karen Lotter is a journalist and writer based in Durban, South Africa.
She has written profiles, features, advertising copy, obituaries, press releases and columns in magazines, company newsletters and newspapers and written and produced corporate scripts.
Karen wrote speeches for local government politicians in Durban for 13 years. She has also done Afrikaans translations for advertising agencies; survived some stints editing specialized newspapers; put together corporate publications; written feature articles and presented workshops on communications related issues and writing for the web.
Her first novel, a crime fiction story set in South Africa, has been accepted by a publisher, and will be appearing within the next year.
She has written an online course, Writing for the Web - that she teaches through South African Writing College.
She now has an website development company, eThekwini Website Factory and focuses on writing web contents and taking photos.
