Please scroll to the bottom for an overview of my most recent articles.
In 2003 I stored ten boxes of "previous life" safely in my parents' attics and sold everything else I owned. I swapped my safe, well-regulated, suburban lives for an ongoing adventure in an antique Land Cruiser BJ45.
Driving from the Netherlands to Asia and South America
A different world and a new way of living opened up for me and my partner Coen, and with that came a passion to explore, hear, feel, smell and taste unexplored territories, unfamiliar cultures, unknown faces and untold stories. We drove from the Netherlands to Vietnam, visiting many countries in between [Iran, Pakistan, India, Bhutan, Laos and Cambodia – to name a few]. In 2007, our non-stop overland adventure brought us the Americas where we are currently exploring the Guianas in South America.
Publications in four-wheel drive magazines
We are a freelance duo, providing text (Karin-Marijke) and images (Coen Wubbels) for magazines and organizations worldwide. Among these are:
- Monthly feature article in 4WD Magazine [the Netherlands]
- Monthly column in Europe's largest four-wheel drive magazine, Auto Bild Allrad [Germany]
- Articles in other four-wheel drive magazines such as Toyota Trails [United States], WYPRAWY 4x4 [Poland], 4x4magazine [Hungary], and 4x4 MAGAZINE [Japan]
Examples of our articles can be found on the publication page of our Landcruising website.
Travel articles about South America
For two years I was South America's travel correspondent for the Dutch Newspaper "De Volkskrant". Other South America Travel articles have been published on Matador Network.
Naturally I have many more tales to tell and travel tips to share. As a Feature Writer and Topic Editor for South America Travel I will focus my stories on the South American continent.
