Knee & Joint Injuries

Sport and exercise equals movement and pivotal to all movement are our joints. These structures, with their connecting ligaments, are the body parts most commonly injured during participation in sport. Ankle sprains account for almost half of all sports injuries, followed in frequency by knee injuries. A joint dislocation is where the two bones which make up a joint become separated - most commonly the fingers or shoulder.

Joint injuries can be prevented by correct training for a particular sport, avoidance of over training and the use of prescribed protective gear. A specific injury or recurrent joint pain must be assessed and promptly treated to avoid chronic pain and disability.
