Think about the following questions:

What are the homeschooling laws where you live?

How do you feel about them? What would you change about them if you could?

How does your “homeschooling dad” feel about homeschooling? Does he participate or just support?

What does socialization mean to you?

What are you planning to do when your child is de-schooling? (Hopefully, not much!)
