Overview Of Regulations

Objective(s): To acquaint participants with the many regulations impacting their environmental health as residents

Materials:Participant Handout Pamphlet - Pages xxx - xxx This pamphlet will be available and uploaded to your course functions. The materials required will be accessed via a URL

Instructions:

1. Ask the participants to access and read the pamphlet.
2. Explain to participants that this pamphlet contains a lot of good information regarding a variety of resident-associated issues.
3. Have participants turn to page xxx in the pamphlet. [We can enter a target here which along with the URL will place students precisely in the correct place of the pamphlet.]
4. Explain that the information concerning each regulation, standard or law listed is not meant to be all encompassing - it is only an overview.
5. Review each of the identified laws.
6. Ask participants to post questions in the discussion area and respond to all questions. If you do not have an answer - write the question down, get the participant's name and e-mail address. Once you have the information needed, write out both the question and answer and then forward the information to the tenant or post the information in your discussion area. DO NOT MAKE UP ANSWERS JUST FOR THE SAKE OF TRYING TO ANSWER A QUESTION!!!!

Note to the Instructor: You may find it useful to review the applicable laws and standards in more depth prior to the presentation. It may help you in responding to tenant questions and/or concerns.
